There was no surprise when 8th ranked Duesseldorf (7-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Grevenbroich (11-4) 84-69 on Saturday. Grevenbroich outrebounded Duesseldorf 42-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Lennard Joerdell (207-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Mitch Penner (196-94, college: Seattle Pacific) who added 20 points during the contest. Five Grevenbroich players scored in double figures. Grevenbroich's coach Hartmut Oehmen used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Croatian center Milan Kolovrat (207-86) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Grevenbroich maintains fourth position in West with 11-4 record. Duesseldorf lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Grevenbroich will face higher ranked Muenster (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Duesseldorf will play against the league's leader Hagen BG (#1) and hope to win that game.
