The game in Kuala Lumpur was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (5-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Malaysian KL Dragons (1-5). Alab Pilipinas defeated KL Dragons 65-54. It looked good early as KL Dragons took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Alab Pilipinas had a 16-10 second period charge getting the lead and KL Dragons were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-65. Alab Pilipinas held KL Dragons to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded KL Dragons 51-38 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. American-Filipino guard Bobby Ray Parks (193-93, college: High School) notched 9 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Alab Pilipinas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Skylar Spencer (208-94, college: San Diego St.) did not help to save the game for KL Dragons. His fellow American import forward Marcus Melvin (206-82, college: N.Carolina St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Alab Pilipinas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Hong Kong ELL. KL Dragons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Alab Pilipinas' next round opponent will be Hong Kong ELL (#4). KL Dragons will play against the league's leader Kaohsiung and hope to win that game.
