Regular Season Round 14: Zolotoi Vek - Azovmash 91-68

An interesting game for Zolotoi Vek (11-3) which hosted in Kirovograd one of their biggest challengers Azovmash (10-4). Second ranked Zolotoi Vek had an easy win 91-68. The game was mostly controlled by Zolotoi Vek. Azovmash was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zolotoi Vek forced 25 Azovmash turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Andriy Kulish (205-92) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Forward Oleksiy Momotenko (203-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Yevgen Bumbur (193-93) scored 17 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Zolotoi Vek have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-3 record behind leader Krivbas-2. Azovmash at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Zolotoi Vek will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Azovmash will play on the road against Kremen-2 in Kremenchuk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
