1Liga top team - Sokol Hradec Kralove (12-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked GBA Sparta (5-8) in Praha 99-89. Sokol Hradec Kralove made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Sokol Hradec Kralove outrebounded GBA Sparta 99-78 including a 60-48 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 29 long-distance shots on high 54.7 percentage. Forward Ondrej Peterka (198-91, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 19 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and Tomas Mahler (190-88) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Sokol Hradec Kralove's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by guard Matous Kainc (185-96) did not help to save the game for GBA Sparta. Latvian power forward Roberts Blumbergs (204-97) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sokol Hradec Kralove maintains first position in Group A with 12-2 record. Loser GBA Sparta keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Sokol Hradec Kralove will meet at home Sokol Pisek (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GBA Sparta will play against Nymburk B and hope to secure a win.
