Regular Season Round 14: Novy Jicin - Ostrava 75-70

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Ostrava (5-9) lost on the road to ninth ranked Novy Jicin (5-9) 75-70 on Sunday. Novy Jicin outrebounded Ostrava 127-79 including a 48-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Ostrava was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Rostislav Pelikan (209-78) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Center Tadeas Janik (201-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lukas Bukovjan (185-98) replied with 13 points and 4 assists and swingman Patrik Hosek (192-98) added 13 points in the effort for Ostrava. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Novy Jicin moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Ostrava. Ostrava lost fifth consecutive game. Novy Jicin will face BK Prostejov B (#9) on the road in the next round.
