Regular Season Round 2: Guantanamo - Capitalinas 53-55

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Guantanamo (1-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Capitalinas (2-0) 55-53. Guantanamo was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Elianis Armentero (175) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points. Point guard Dairis Tornell (176-92) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Capitalinas' coach used entire bench in such tough game. International center Clenia Noblet (190-87) replied with 20 points and power forward Yunieski Bouly Garzon (184-92) added 8 points in the effort for Guantanamo. Capitalinas is looking forward to face Pinar (#6) in Rio in the next round where they are favorite. Guantanamo will play against Sancti Spiritus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
