Very important is a home loss of first ranked Kumamoto V. (24-6) against sixth ranked Bambitious Nara (9-21) on Friday night. Host Kumamoto V. was defeated by Bambitious Nara in Kumamoto 97-86. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Bambitious Nara made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) answered with 12 points and 9 assists and American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bambitious Nara maintains sixth place with 9-21 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
