Very important is a home loss of third ranked Acibadem (13-6) against tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (9-10) on Friday night. Host Acibadem was edged by Bandirma Kir. in a tough game in Istanbul 89-91. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Acibadem. Bandirma Kir. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Talat Alp Altunbey (204-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Ismail Cem Ulusoy (183-96, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Four Bandirma Kir. players scored in double figures. American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for Acibadem in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bandirma Kir. maintains tenth place with 9-10 record. Acibadem at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Bursaspor and Afyon. Bandirma Kir. will meet at home bottom-ranked Muglaorman (#18) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Acibadem will play against Afyon Bld (#5) in Afyonkarahisar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
