Regular Season Round 15: HBA-Marsky - Jarvenpaa 93-76

There was an upset when higher ranked Jarvenpaa (7-9) lost to tenth ranked HBA-Marsky (5-12) in Helsinki 76-93 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Jarvenpaa was better in fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Jarvenpaa 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. HBA-Marsky looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for forward Elias Valtonen (197-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Hannes Polla (210-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Jarvenpaa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky moved-up to ninth place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. HBA-Marsky will have a break next round.
