Regular Season Round 19: Orchies - Challans 83-74

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Orchesien BC (11-8) beat 15th ranked Vendee Challans (7-12) in Orchies 83-74 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a very good performance for Hugo Dumortier (195-93) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Dominique Gentil (197-88, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 17 points and American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) added 15 points in the effort for Vendee Challans. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Orchesien BC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with St Vallier. Loser Vendee Challans dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Orchesien BC will face higher ranked Rueil (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play against Lorient (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
