Regular Season Round 19: Lorient - Quimper 44-45

Fourteenth-ranked Lorient (7-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Quimper UJAP (14-5). The visitors from Quimper managed to secure only one-point victory 45-44. However their fans expected much easier game. Lorient was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 5 points and 9 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) helped adding 4 points and 7 rebounds. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Quimper UJAP keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Souffel. Lorient lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixteenth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Challans. Quimper UJAP will play against bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lorient will play on the road against Vendee Challans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
