Regular Season Round 19: Rennes - RAC Basket 106-108

A very interesting game took place in Rennes. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Union Rennes (9-10) to fourth ranked Rueil (13-6) 108-106 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. 32 personal fouls committed by Union Rennes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Will Felder (201-91, college: Miami, OH, agency: Court Side) fired 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Karim Gourari (204-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian swingman Vukan Zivkovic (199-91) produced 28 points and center Ludovic Negrobar (207-91) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Rueil and five Union Rennes players scored in double figures. Rueil have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Caen. Newly promoted Union Rennes keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Rueil's next round opponent will be Orchesien BC (#6) in Orchies. Union Rennes will play on the road against Vitre (#13) and hope to win that game.
