Regular Season Round 9: Kozuv - Kumanovo 80-69

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kumanovo (6-3) against fourth ranked Kozuv (5-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Kumanovo was defeated by Kozuv in Gevgelija 80-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kumanovo. The game was mostly controlled by Kozuv. Kumanovo was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Kenyon McNeaill (185-91, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 16 points and 8 assists. Kozuv's coach Igor Mihajlovski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Yonel Brown (175-94, college: Kennesaw St., agency: BeoExcell) with 22 points and Serbian swingman Miladin Pekovic (197-83, agency: BeoExcell) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Four Kumanovo players scored in double figures. Kozuv maintains fourth place with 5-4 record. Kumanovo at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Kozuv will play against Strumica (#6) in Strumica in the next round. Kumanovo will play at home against Ohrid AV and hopes to get back on the winning track.
