Regular Season Round 15: Prostejov B - Novy Jicin 82-57

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked BK Prostejov B and 7th ranked Novy Jicin had identical 5-9 record. This time BK Prostejov B used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Novy Jicin 82-57 on Sunday night. BK Prostejov B dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Novy Jicin's 30. BK Prostejov B forced 24 Novy Jicin turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BK Prostejov B made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for point guard Martin Nabelek (176-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 assists. Swingman Marek Sehnal (196-96) helped adding 7 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Prostejov B (6-9) moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Pardubice. Novy Jicin at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. BK Prostejov B will face league's leader SKB Zlin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Novy Jicin will play against B&W Opava B (#3) and hope to win that game.
