Regular Season Round 30: Fujian S. - Shanxi BD 115-111

An interesting game took place in Jinjiang where 13th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (13-17) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Fujian (9-21) 115-111. They made 25-of-27 charity shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Shanxi Zhongyu outrebounded Fujian 53-35 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Shanxi Zhongyu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Forward J.J. Hickson (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Fujian's coach WanJun Cui allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Henry Sims (208-90, college: Georgetown) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) added 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shanxi Zhongyu. Four Fujian and five Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Fujian moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Shanxi Zhongyu lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Fujian's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sichuan BW (#9) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
