Regular Season Round 16: L.Sorocaba - Mogi 60-90

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Mogi (8-7) outplayed 13th ranked Liga Sorocaba (4-11) in Sorocabana 90-60 on Wednesday. Mogi shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Liga Sorocaba was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Alexandre de Souza (202-92) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Rafael Castellon (192-85) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Liga Sorocaba. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Liga Sorocaba lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Mogi will face Paulistano (#10) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Liga Sorocaba will play at home against Campo Mourao and hope to win that game.
