Bottom-ranked Armann (0-17) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 17th consecutive match to third ranked Valur (12-3) 109-62. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Armann's 42. They outrebounded Armann 40-24 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Center Birgir Petursson (205-86) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Valur players scored in double figures. Forward Brynjar Fridriksson (200-96) came up with 12 points and Arnthor Fjalarsson added 10 points respectively for Armann in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Valur. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having four points less than leader Hottur. Armann lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Valur will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Armann will play at home against Breidablik (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
