Regular Season Round 15: TTU - Valga 98-87
Date: January 27, 2017
Rather expected game when 7th ranked Valga (5-12) lost to fourth ranked TTU (8-6) in Tallinn 87-98 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by TTU. Valga was better in second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valga was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Sten Olmre (192-95) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five TTU players scored in double figures. Latvian Ivars Rihards Zvigurs (198-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Latvian guard Sandis Silavs (194-88) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Valga. Despite that victory TTU went down to fifth position due to points difference. Valga lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost.
