Regular Season Round 17: Gran Canaria B - La Roda 89-74

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Gran Canaria B (10-7) defeated at home second-ranked La Roda (12-5) 89-74 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Latvian guard Kristaps Gluditis (191-95) who scored 24 points. Georgian Willy Isiani (203-97) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Gran Canaria B's coach Rafael Arocha used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Norman Rey (203-87) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Gran Canaria B moved-up to seventh place in Group B. Loser La Roda keeps the second position with five games lost. Gran Canaria B will face Villarrobledo (#10) on the road in the next round. La Roda will play against Viten Fuen. (#15) in Madrid and hope to win that game.
