Regular Season Round 20: Vitre - Rennes 80-67

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Union Rennes (9-11) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Vitre (9-11) 80-67 on Saturday. Union Rennes was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-10 charge of Vitre, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yann Siegwarth (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) who added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Vitre's coach Zoran Durdevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) responded with 16 points and point guard Johan Rathieuville (178-85) scored 15 points. Four Union Rennes players scored in double figures. Vitre moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Union Rennes. Vitre will face higher ranked Orchesien BC (#6) in Orchies in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
