Regular Season Round 16: PVSK Pannon - Kormend 94-75

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kormend (10-6) against eighth ranked PVSK Pannon (9-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Kormend was crushed by PVSK Pannon in Pecs 94-75. The game was mostly controlled by PVSK Pannon. Kormend was better in fourth quarter 25-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PVSK Pannon players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kormend's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Akos Halasz (183-91, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 assists and 6 steals and Oliver Biro (196-93) who added 20 points during the contest. PVSK Pannon's coach Ferenc Csirke used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. (193-91, college: Ohio St.) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Jordan Loveridge (198-93, college: Utah) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Five PVSK Pannon and four Kormend players scored in double figures. PVSK Pannon moved-up to seventh place. Kormend at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. PVSK Pannon will play against higher ranked Kaposvari (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kormend will play against KTE-Duna and hopes to get back on the winning track.
