Regular Season Round 21: Brose Bask. - Maccabi T-A 90-75

The game with biggest result difference took place in Bamberg. Local Brose Baskets (8-13) beat 13th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (7-14) 90-75 on Thursday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 49-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Brose Baskets shot 62.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Brose Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) who scored 25 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American guard Darius Miller (202-90, college: Kentucky) chipped in 17 points. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) who recorded 22 points and the other American import DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 19 points (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending German champion moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with FC Barcelona. Loser Maccabi T-A keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Brose Baskets will face higher ranked Panathinaikos (#6) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi T-A will play at home against Baskonia (#7) and hope to win that game.
