Regular Season Round 17: TuNMKY - Korikouvot 79-90

Top ranked TuNMKY (15-4) recorded its fourth loss in Turun on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Korikouvot (12-6) 90-79. The game was mostly controlled by Korikouvot. TuNMKY managed to win third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was swingman Teemu Knihtinen (195-98) who had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Samuli Lehtonen (175-92) chipped in 14 points. Guard Eero Innamaa (186-98) produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Korikouvot maintains fifth place in Division with 12-6 record. TuNMKY at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Korikouvot are looking forward to face higher ranked Espoo Basket (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TuNMKY will play against Karkkila and is hoping to win this game.
