Regular Season Round 35: Shimane SM - Gunma 69-49

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Shimane. Third ranked Shimane Magic faced leader Gunma. Host Shimane Magic (26-6) smashed guests from Gunma (23-10) 69-49. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gunma. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gunma to just 5 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who led the winners and scored 6 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Takanori Goya (190-83) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gunma in the defeat. Gunma's coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Shimane Magic have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Gunma at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. Shimane Magic's next round opponent will be again league's leader Gunma at home and it will be for sure the game of the week.
