Regular Season Round 18: Seis do Nadal - Naron 62-72

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Naron (9-6) won against bottom-ranked Seis do Nadal (0-15) in Vigo 72-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Naron. Seis do Nadal was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naron forced 19 Seis do Nadal turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Rob Brandenberg (188-92, college: VCU) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Tim Gill (203-93, college: Clarion) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Gill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Center Oscar Garcia (205-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Fernando Mourino (185-80) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Seis do Nadal. Naron maintains sixth position in Group A-B with 9-6 record. Newly promoted Seis do Nadal still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Naron will face Rosalia (#11) in Santiago de Camp. in the next round where they are favorite. Seis do Nadal will play on the road against Betanzos and hopes to get finally their first victory.
