Regular Season Round 16: PAOK - Aris 62-58

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Thessaloniki: PAOK (#6) and Aris (#4). PAOK (9-7) won against visiting Aris (9-7) 62-58. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 18-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. PAOK dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Aris' 22 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Aris 40-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Aris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Vangelis Margaritis (203-82) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) responded with 10 points and his fellow American import Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. PAOK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and Kolossos HH. PAOK is looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against Promitheas (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
