Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Aschersleben (8-4) won against 8th ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (4-10) in Neustadt 97-82 on Saturday. Aschersleben forced 30 Weser Bsk/BTS turnovers. It was a very good performance for Croatian Robert Kujundzic (202-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 steals. American Sharif Hudson (188-92, college: Ark.-Monticello) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Five Aschersleben players scored in double figures. Aschersleben's coach Christian Schafer allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Philipp Hellmich (184-89) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Lars Kaniok (195-80) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Weser Bsk/BTS. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Aschersleben. They maintain fourth place in North with 8-4 record. Weser Bsk/BTS lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Aschersleben will face Westerstede (#7) at home in the next round. Weser Bsk/BTS will play against the league's leader RW Cuxhaven and hope to win that game.
