Regular Season Round 19: Jena II - TSV Troester 95-82

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Jena II (9-9) defeated at home 3rd placed TSV Troester (12-6) 95-82 on Saturday. Jena II forced 22 TSV Troester turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. TSV Troester was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Jan Heber (187-98) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Jena II's coach Farsin Hamzei used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Center Erik Land (205-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Timo Dippold (182-97) added 19 points in the effort for TSV Troester. Four Jena II and five TSV Troester players scored in double figures. Jena II moved-up to sixth place in South-East, which they share with Schwabing and Oberhaching. Loser TSV Troester dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Jena II will face Topstar (#12) in Diedorf in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TSV Troester will play at home against Bayreuth 2 (#14) and hope to win that game.
