Regular Season Round 21: CFBB - Challans 78-102

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-21) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 102-78 loss to fourteenth ranked Vendee Challans (9-12) in Paris. CFBB was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 58-32 second half run of Vendee Challans. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 34. 28 personal fouls committed by CFBB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) nailed 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and Emmanuel Monceau (195-95) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Point guard Yanik Blanc (184-99) came up with 23 points and 6 assists and forward Ivan Fevrier (203-99) added 17 points respectively for CFBB in the defeat. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vendee Challans moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. CFBB lost their twenty first game in a row. They still close the standings. Vendee Challans' next round opponent will be Gries/Oberhoffen (#16) in Bischwiller. CFBB will play on the road against Rueil and hopes to get finally their first victory.
