Regular Season Round 17: Zolotoi Vek - Kremen-2 120-84

Higher League top team - Zolotoi Vek (15-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Kremen-2 (2-16) in Kirovograd 120-84. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 120-84. Zolotoi Vek dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Kremen-2's 54 and made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Zolotoi Vek forced 20 Kremen-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kremen-2's players. Power forward Andriy Kulish (205-92) stepped up and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Danylo Khablakov responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Anton Mikhailenko (185-94) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Zolotoi Vek and four Kremen-2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Zolotoi Vek. They maintain first place with 15-3 record. Kremen-2 lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Zolotoi Vek will face league's leader Krivbas-2 in Kryvyi Rih in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kremen-2 will play on the road against SumDU (#5) in Sumy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
