Regular Season Round 18: Asseco - Energa Czarni 65-79

The game between 13th ranked Asseco (8-11) and eleventh ranked Energa Czarni (10-9) in Gdynia on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Slupsk beat Asseco 79-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asseco. Energa Czarni had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 assists. The other American import swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. International guard Filip Matczak (187-93) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Asseco. Energa Czarni have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rosa Radom and Szczecin. Loser Asseco keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Energa Czarni will face TBV Start (#16) in Lublin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Asseco will play on the road against AZS Polfarmex in Kutno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
