Regular Season Round 22: Challans - Gries/Oberhoffen 83-91

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Vendee Challans (9-13) lost at home to sixteenth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (9-13) 91-83. Gries/Oberhoffen shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) chipped in 26 points during the contest. Five Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Gries/Oberhoffen moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Vendee Challans. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against higher ranked Rueil (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vendee Challans will play against GET Vosges (#5) in Golbey and hopes to get back on the winning track.
