Second Stage Round 6: Ratiopharm - Lietkabelis 81-86

An interesting game for Lithuanian Lietkabelis (2-4) which played road game in Ulm against one of their biggest challengers German ratiopharm Ulm (0-6). Third ranked Lietkabelis managed to get a 5-point victory 86-81. The guests trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Lietkabelis made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Strangely ratiopharm Ulm outrebounded Lietkabelis 33-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American forward Da'Sean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ratiopharm Ulm. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Lietkabelis maintains third position in Group F with 2-4 record having just eight point less than leader Lokomotiv, which they share with Cedevita. Loser ratiopharm Ulm still closes the standings with six games lost.
