There was an upset in Alfas Del Pi where much higher ranked UCAM Murcia II (11-6) was defeated by ninth ranked L Alfas (7-10) 67-52 on Wednesday. The game without a history. L Alfas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UCAM Murcia II to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded UCAM Murcia II 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when L Alfas made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Point guard Jaime Ivars (186-94) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. L Alfas' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) responded with 14 points and guard Emilio Martinez (180-98) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. L Alfas moved-up to sixth place in Group E, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the second position with six games lost.
