Regular Season Round 6: Jamestown J. - Chautauqua H. 100-89

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hurricanes (6-6) against fourth ranked Jackals (5-3) on Friday night. Visiting Hurricanes were defeated by Jackals in Jamestown 100-89. Jackals dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Hurricanes' 52. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Jackals made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Christian Davis (190, college: Howard Payne) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Michael Davenport (196-89, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Jackals' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tyquan Stroman (198, college: St.Augustine) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds and center Reuben Berry (201, college: W.Virginia St.) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Jackals and four Hurricanes players scored in double figures. Jackals maintains fourth position with 5-3 record. Loser Hurricanes keep the third place with six games lost. Jackals will meet league's leader Mavericks in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hurricanes will play against Sky Chiefs and hope to secure a win.
