Regular Season Round 25: GOCOR-Sozh - Grodno-93 60-96

Leader Grodno-93 delivered the twenty second victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (3-18) 96-60 in Gomel. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 26. They outrebounded GOCOR-Sozh 43-29 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grodno-93 shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by GOCOR-Sozh's players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Victor Ilyukevich (203-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (200-87) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Evgeniy Rybkin (195-96) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for GOCOR-Sozh. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Grodno-93. They maintain first place with 22-1 record. GOCOR-Sozh lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Grodno-93's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Grodno to the arena .
