Regular Season Round 19: Quintanar - Rivas 95-83

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Quintanar (10-8) beat at home 16th ranked Rivas (2-17) 95-83 on Saturday. The game without a history. Quintanar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Rivas shooting 77.8 percent from the field and made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Rivas only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Rivas 19-5. Quintanar shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 73.7 percentage. It was a great evening for Cuban point guard Taylor Garcia (182-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 6 assists. Guard Francisco Molina (191-97) helped adding 20 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Quintanar players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Javier Carpio (185-89) responded with 20 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and forward Pablo Gimenez (192-91) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Quintanar moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Rivas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. Quintanar will face Villarrobledo (#10) on the road in the next round. Rivas will play against Torrelodones (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
