Fifth-ranked BK Opava (12-11) gave a tough game to BK Decin (16-8) on Saturday. BK Decin managed to secure only three-point victory 112-109. However their fans expected easier game. BK Decin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by BK Opava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Tomas Pomikalek (200-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Pavel Houska (203-84, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side center Martin Gniadek (203-90) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-87, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Four BK Decin and five BK Opava players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BK Decin are looking forward to face CEZ Nymburk at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BK Opava will play against USK Praha (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
