Regular Season Round 18: Politekhn.Lvov - Ch.Mavpy 2 96-71

There was no surprise in Lviv where 6th ranked Ch.Mavpy 2 (2-18) was crushed by third ranked Politekhn.Lvov (14-5) 96-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Politekhn.Lvov. Ch.Mavpy 2 was better in fourth quarter 28-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhn.Lvov shot 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Ch.Mavpy 2 only scored ten points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ch.Mavpy 2 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Roman Novikov (204-92, agency: AproK Sports Group) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Andriy Kobets (192-93, agency: AproK Sports Group) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Four Politekhn.Lvov players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rostislav Lunskiy (189-97) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nikita Voievoda (184-96) added 17 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Politekhn.Lvov have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-5 record having seven points less than leader Zolotoi Vek. Ch.Mavpy 2 lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
