Regular Season Round 9: Hong Kong ELL - KL Dragons 96-87

The game with biggest result difference took place in Hong Kong. Local Hong Kong ELL (8-2) beat 6th ranked Malaysian KL Dragons (2-9) 96-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KL Dragons won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hong Kong ELL players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) nailed 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and power forward Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: HMS) accounted for 21 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Kiwi Gardner (170-93, college: Providence) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Joshua Munzon (191-95, college: CS Los Angeles) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for KL Dragons in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KL Dragons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hong Kong ELL have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-2 record having six points less than leader Singapore S. KL Dragons lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Hong Kong ELL's next round opponent will be Saigon Heat (#5) on the road. KL Dragons will play against Alab Pilipinas and hope to win that game.
