Regular Season Round 20: Persbraten - Gimle BBK 74-103

The game between 10th ranked Persbraten (1-22) and fifth ranked Gimle BBK (14-10) in Oslo on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Bergen outscored Persbraten 103-74. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle BBK. Persbraten managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle BBK dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 24. Gimle BBK forced 23 Persbraten turnovers and outrebounded them 47-26 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Nick Victor (196-92, college: Yale) who scored that evening 32 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) supported him with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. Gimle BBK's coach Audun Eskeland felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) did not help to save the game for Persbraten. Naturalized Greek guard Theodor Aliferis (183-88) added 17 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Gimle BBK moved-up to fourth place. Persbraten lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 22 lost games. Gimle BBK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Persbraten's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ammerud Bskt.
