Top ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (10-4) recorded its fourth loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (6-4) 64-62. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center James Hughes (211-83, college: N.Illinois, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Alab Pilipinas' coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was center Justin Howard (209-81, college: Mercer) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Alab Pilipinas maintains third place with 6-4 record having 4 victories less than leader Singapore S. Singapore Slingers at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Alab Pilipinas are looking forward to face bottom-ranked KL Dragons (#6) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round. Singapore Slingers will play on the road against Kaohsiung (#4) in Kaohsiung City and are hoping to win this game.
