Garzas topped Barreteros to take 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal clash. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 51-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Garzas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Barreteros' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 4 blocks. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) chipped in 29 points and 4 assists. Four Garzas players scored in double figures. Garzas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import point guard Carl Jones (180-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: DTMones) added 27 points respectively for the guests.
