Regular Season Round 10: Saigon H. - Hong Kong ELL 72-97

Date: February 18, 2017
The game in Saigon supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (9-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (3-7). Hong Kong ELL smashed Saigon Heat 97-72 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saigon Heat. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-72. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hong Kong ELL players scored in double figures. Hong Kong ELL's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 32 points and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) by American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) did not help to save the game for Saigon Heat. American-Panamanian center Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (214-89, college: Kansas St.) added 16 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Hong Kong ELL have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-2 record behind leader Singapore S. Loser Saigon Heat keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Hong Kong ELL will meet bottom-ranked KL Dragons (#6) in the next round. Saigon Heat will play against Alab Pilipinas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
