No shocking result in a game in Villaviciosa where second ranked Casvi (15-5) defeated 7th ranked Gran Canaria B (11-9) 81-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Casvi. Gran Canaria B was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Casvi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria B's 32. The best player for the winners was Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Casvi players scored in double figures. They maintain second position in Group B with 15-5 record having just five point less than leader Chantada, which they share with Real Madrid II. Loser Gran Canaria B keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Casvi will face Quintanar (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria B will play against Azuqueca and hope to win that game.
