Quarter-Finals Round 1: Mitsubishi K. - Denso Iris 65-75

Denso Iris upset Mitsubishi in the quarterfinal opener. Mitsubishi K. was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 26-12 charge of Denso Iris, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. Denso Iris' coach Hiroshi Kojima used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Risa Nishioka (184-97) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Mitsubishi K.
