Regular Season Round 10: KL Dragons - Alab Pilipinas 79-77

Important game to mention about took place in Kuala Lumpur. Sixth ranked Malaysian KL Dragons (3-10) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (7-5) 79-77 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alab Pilipinas. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-15 Alab Pilipinas' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-77 at the end of the game. KL Dragons made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American power forward Skylar Spencer (208-94, college: San Diego St.) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Kiwi Gardner (170-93, college: Providence) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals during the contest. At the losing side American forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Robby Celiz (193-88) scored 23 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. KL Dragons maintains sixth position with 3-10 record. Alab Pilipinas at the other side keep the third place with five games lost. KL Dragons will play against league's second-placed Hong Kong ELL at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alab Pilipinas will play against Saigon Heat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
