An exciting game was played in Ruzomberok. MBK Ruzomberok faced Samorin. Host MBK Ruzomberok (4-5) smashed guests from Samorin (0-9) 79-50. MBK Ruzomberok made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Samorin only scored seven points from the stripe. MBK Ruzomberok forced 20 Samorin turnovers and outrebounded them 47-18 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Samorin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Taijah Campbell (190-94, college: Virginia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. The former international point guard Zuzana Lazarova (168-87) chipped in 18 points. Four MBK Ruzomberok players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lena Slezarikova (175-93) who recorded 16 points and the former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St.) added 9 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MBK Ruzomberok are looking forward to face Good Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play on the road against Piestanske C. in Piestany and hopes to get finally their first victory.
