Regular Season Round 22: Moron - Zornotza 67-70

Important game to mention about took place in Morón de la Frontera. Eighth ranked Zornotza (12-10) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Moron (12-10) 70-67 in the game for the sixth place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But Moron won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) notched 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Iker Salazar (192-93) supported him with 10 points. Four Zornotza players scored in double figures. Even 4 points and 21 rebounds by the former international power forward Jesus Chagoyen (202-78) did not help to save the game for Moron. Point guard Javier Marin (190-92) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zornotza have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Valladolid and Moron. Zornotza will play against higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Moron will play against the league's leader Sammic ISB in Azpeitia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
