Second Stage Round 3: Svitavy - Prostejov 95-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Prostejov's (8-17) road loss to Basketbal Svitavy (10-15) 68-95. Basketbal Svitavy dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Prostejov's 38. Basketbal Svitavy forced 24 Prostejov turnovers and outrebounded them 37-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Bryan Smithson (183-85, college: NC-Asheville, agency: HMS) contributed with 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Basketbal Svitavy's coach Lubomir Ruzicka felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Irish-American forward Brian Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: Bucknell, agency: Diamond Sports) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Rayshawn Simmons (193, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 10 assists in the effort for Prostejov. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy will play against NH Ostrava (#9) on the road in the next round. Prostejov will play against BK Lions Hradec in J.Hradec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
